Impact definition from the Research Excellence Framework in the UK Impact is defined as an effect on, change or benefit to the economy, society, culture, public policy or services, health, the environment or quality of life, beyond academia. At the institutional level and (optional) on the research group level.
Interplay research and education The Ministry of Education and Research wants NOKUT (the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education) and the Research Council of Norway to develop a scheme for common evaluations of research and educational activities. Questions asked in SAMEVAL Indicate the normal distribution of time between research, teaching and other activities for all academic positions - and policies for redistribution of tasks between staff. To what extent are students involved in staff research? Describe how and on what levels. Indicate the linkages between the research within the panels of the evaluation and the study programmes offered by the institution. Describe how study programmes use teaching and assessment methods to develop students research abilities. Indicate the main challenges for optimizing the interplay of education and research within the discipline and the measures taken to meet these challenges.
