Skills project results Background for the project: A clear candidate profile is defined as a «must win» in the current strategy. Because it will enhance students: «development of competence employability impact on business practice Important questions: What are the most important skills? Who should take the responsibility for developing the skills? How can we document development of skills? Important stakeholders: Companies who employ our candidates Faculty who develop and deliver the programmes Students who are responsible for developing needed competences (including skills) BI as a business school committed to fulfill its societal responsibilities, and to ensure that the portfolio of programmes align with stakeholder expectations Methodology: 1. Developed skills framework (15 skills) together with companies/faculty and students 2. Survey part 1 - Employers and course leaders: to determine the importance of skills, and to determine if we develop these skills in our programmes ( importance vs development ) 3. Survey part 2 Current MSc students and MSc alumni: To validate survey 1 Development vs importance/use in first job after graduating. ( development vs use/importance ) To determine how students develop the skills (qualitative part of survey), And to get information about skills perceived important to have in 5-10 years.

Veien videre Videreutvikling av læringsmål innenfor hvert MSc program skal sørge for en ytterlige fokus på utvikling og dokumentasjon av studenters skills innenfor hvert program. Dette skal gjøres ved hjelp av egnede aktiviteter og evalueringsmetoder. Tilrettelegging for utvikling av skills på tvers av program gjennom obligatoriske kurs som tilrettelegger for utvikling av skills som anses som nødvendig for å møte fremtidige behov fra næringslivet for alle våre studenter. Vi har blant annet allerede endret 2 av våre «corekurs» på MSc som betyr at alle våre MSc studenter får programmering implementert i sine kurs. Utvikling av program som er egnet til å møte de skills som næringslivet vil ha i fremtiden. Fra 2018 vil BI har en MSc in Business Analytics. Kommunikasjon med og bevisstgjøring av studenter for å sikre at de er vet hva som forventes av dem og hvordan de på best mulig måte kan møte disse forventningene. Sørge for at skillsrammeverket oppdateres gjennom dialog og samhandling med relevant stakeholders
