Friendly energy consumption? All consumption and production of energy are a stress for the environment. ENØK = Energy Economising Energy have to be used in that Quantity Mode Time Which in a total way are most lucrative when benefits and disadvantage are evaluated
Environmental impacts of using natural gas
The environmental challenges by using energy are far more than just CO 2 Environmental impacts are for example emission of: Dust/particles (damage to health and glaziers) NO X N 2 O (laughing gas 320 X CO 2 ) SO 2 Dioxin etc Environmental impacts may also be: Dam installation for Hydro EP Power lines Noise nuisance, visual pollution Deforestation (biofuel)
Why is the ice melting? 40 leading scientists were gathered at a conferance in Oslo: Rapid decrease of emissions of soot will have a direct effect and will reduce melting. CO 2 reduction is important, but will only have a long term effect. It will not help save the ice. Soot comes basicly from burning wood, coal and oil. Natural gas will lower emissions of soot by 100 % compared to other fuels, and CO 2 by 30 % when compared to oil.

Potential the Norwegian coast The total potential for LNG (based on todays consumption of oil) is equivalent to 1 450 000 tons of LNG 2020: Realistic potential 200 000 tons of LNG. This will give a reduction of CO 2 emissions of app. 250-300.000 tons/yr. Based on comparative costs for Mongstad/Kårstø på 1500 3000 NOK/t (6000) this corresponds to 400-900 (1800) Mill NOK. In addition we will reduce emissions of NO X, Sulphure and particles.

Significant interest from international shipping companies like:
Summary Gasnor is the company that has introduced natural gas in Norway, and has developed a consept for small scale LNG which has aroused international interest. There is a huge potential for environmental improvement along the coast of Norway. This concerns both CO 2 (global issue), NO X, SO 2 and dust/particles (local influence on health and vegetation). Utilizing this potential will create new export opportunities for the Norwegian industry and suppliers. It is essential (for the realization of the potential) to have the right incentives eighter by command/prohibition or by support (economical) Gasnor wants a dialog with our politicials to establish the right external conditions for the companies (gas suppliers, ship owners etc.) to act.
