1 HOW TO REGISTER FOR, REVISE AND CANCEL COURSES ( 수강신청및정정방법 ) ( 申请课程 变更和取消方法 ) 1. Enter * Do not enter the portal of Konkuk University ( 2. Enter your SID and password. 3. Click 로그인 (Login). Office of International Affairs 4. Check your Korean name, major at Konkuk and student number at Konkuk. 282 KU HANDBOOK 5-1. Click 종합강의시간표 (Comprehensive Course Schedule) to examine all the courses offered at Konkuk during the semester.

2 5-2. Scroll and click the department of your choice Scroll and click 전체 (All). Course Number 5-4. Click 검색 (Search) A list of the courses offered by the department will appear. 5 Office of International Affairs 6. Click 수강신청등록 (Registration). 286 Registration Method 1 (by Entering the Course Number) KU HANDBOOK 6-1. Enter the course number of the course you have chosen. Then, press the Enter key. Voila! You have just signed up for that course.

6 6-2. Repeat 6-1 several times for each course, and this is what you have as a result When you are finished, click 닫기 (Logout) to complete the entire registration procedure. Registration Method 2 (by Searching for the Course) Office of International Affairs KU HANDBOOK You can search for the course you want to take by the course name. Click 교과목명 (Course Name) 6-2. Type in the course name in Korean Click 검색 (Search).

7 6-1. Or search using the name of the department that offers that course. Click 수강학과 (Department) Scroll and click the name of the department Click 검색 (Search). Office of International Affairs When you are finished, click 닫기 (Logout) to complete the entire registration procedure. KU HANDBOOK 7-3 You must click 저장 (Save) to complete the registration for that course! (Right after the copying, the course information appears red. You must click 저장 to make it appear black.) 7-2. Copy! 7-1. Click on 과목번호 (Course Number) of the course you want to take.

8 Revision (Cancellation) Click 수강신청등록 (Registration) if you log back in some time after your initial course registration. 삭제 (Delete) Total number of courses you registered for 8. If you want to delete the course you signed up for, check the 삭제 (Delete) box and click on 저장 (Save). (See p. 290.) Then, print out your course schedule and carry it with you throughout the semester! 10 HOW TO CHECK COURSE REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION SHEET ( 수강신청확인서확인방법 ) ( 申请课程清单阅览方法 ) Whether you register for a course on your own online or your instructor registers you on your behalf, you must confirm online that you are actually registered for the course. You have to do this confirmation and take whatever action may be necessary (go back online to register for that course or remind the instructor to do that) before the end of the Revision and Full Course Registration Period. You cannot register for a course online after the end of this period. You can do this confirmation by accessing the university portal and reviewing the Course Registration Confirmation Sheet, which shows the latest details of your course registration. This sheet is almost the same as the Personal Course Schedule explained on p. 290, but the confirmation sheet carries more administrative weight. Review the course registration confirmation sheet and take action necessary, if any. After everything is done and confirmed, carry your printed copy of the course registration confirmation sheet at all times. 1. Type eng.konkuk.ac.kr. 2. Click "PORTAL SERVICE." 13 ERROR MESSAGES DURING RESERVATION, WISH LIST AND REGISTRATION ( 수강바구니, 수강신청, 수강신청및정정기간중오류메시지 ) ( 学校网站上关于课程申请的所有错误信息 ) I. Full Course If you try to register for a course which is already full, the following message will pop up. KU HANDBOOK Office of International Affairs 294 "The course you have just selected is full." Click 확인 (Confirm) to return to the previous page. Here, you have two choices; 1. Select a different course. 2. If you really want to take this course, fill out and submit the Full Course Registration Request Form to the instructor of this course. (See p. 267.)

15 III. Overlapping Course If you try to register for a course overlapping with a course you already registered for, the following message will pop up. Maximum Number of Credits Allowed If the total number of credits of the courses you have selected exceeds the maximum number of credits you are allowed to take per semester, the following message will pop up. 17 V. Restricted Course If you try to register for a course that is restricted to the students of your major, the following message will pop up. KU HANDBOOK Office of International Affairs 298 The course you have just selected is restricted to the students of your major. Click 확인 (Confirm) to return to the previous page.

18 VI. Retaking a Course If you try to intentionally or unintentionally register for the very same course you previously took, the following message will pop up. Click 확인 (Confirm) to register for this course. Office of International Affairs KU HANDBOOK 299 You have already taken the course you have just selected. If you retake this course without having the credits previously earned for it deleted, you will still be granted additional credits for retaking the course, but the credits for retaking the course will not be recognized as part of credits required for graduation; only the credits for your first time in the course will be recognized. The credits for your retaking the course will only be incorporated into the total number of credits you earned during your entire time at Konkuk. Here, you have three choices: 1. Select a different course. 2. Retake this course and then have the credits for either your first or second time in the course deleted later. 3. Leave the records of both courses intact. In this case, you will be granted credits for retaking the course but the credits for retaking the course will not be recognized as part of credits required for graduation: They will only be incorporated into the total number of credits you earned during your entire time at Konkuk.
