Romvær og lysende plasmaskyer effekter I jordas ionosfære Njål Gulbrandsen Universitetet i Tromsø

Horisontal utstrekning:100 1000 km (Crowley, 1996) Høyde: ca. 300 km, (i F-laget). (Lorentzen et al., 2004) Synlig i 630 nm (Rødt) Kan forstyrre langbølget radiokommunikasjon og kominikasjon til og fra satelitter (bl.a GPS) TEC image showing tongue of ionization. Konklusjon Polar cap patches are observed crossing the OCB over Svalbard from 18:30 04:50 MLT at night time with a average at 23:25 MLT. IMF B y seems to be able to move the area were patches crosses the OCB by 1 hour MLT. 202 patches (almost 2/3 of the patches) crossed the OCB before magnetic midnight.
