Project involved the collaborations of Julius Kühn-Institut, Germany and the Agricultural extension service of Stjørdal and the Agricultural extension service Jæren Characterization of species and pathotypes of cereal cyst nematodes in Norway 2003-2006 responsibility: project leader. Project involved the collaborations of Swedish Agricultural University Alnarp and Rothamsted Research UK. Advisory in nematode-related questions and information for: the Norwegian Plant Inspection Service, Norwegian Agricultural Extension Service and farmers. Identification of plant- parasitic nematodes and quarantine nematodes. Representing Norway in Europe on the Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN) expert working group. The aim of this group was to review the definition of resistance of potato to PCN and outline the procedures for an appropriate test to assess resistance. This was included in the proposal of a new council directive on control of PCN. Identification of predators used as biological control products (import products) As a chief inspector I have had the responsibility to lead the Norwegian Plant Inspection Service in different occasions, participate in different meetings with politicians, diplomats and scientific personal concerning quarantine organisms with global consequences as the pine wood nematode, the cotton white-fly, the western flower trips etc. Participated in several projects concerning plant-health, representing Norway in several Scandinavian projects concerning Plant inspection laboratories. From Jan. 1990 to Dec. 1991 CARE International /CARE Norge, Agricultural advisor for the Integrated Systems farming project in Nicaragua. Advisory include preventing and contra resting soil erosion, healthy seed production, integrated pest management. Training and capacitating to the extension project team and extensionists of the Ministry of agriculture and land reform, local farmers and technicians of other local institutes.
