Kunst Kunst kan være balsam for den mentale helse eller et enzym for den kreative tanke. I vårt moderne, høyteknologiske konkurransesamfunn, med store krav til kreativitet, produktivitet og effektivitet, er det viktig at enkeltindividet kan regenerere seg. Kunst kan være incitamentet til den regenerative prosessen. Vår tids ekstreme fokus på karriere og materialisme må ha en motpol. Det samme gjelder masseproduksjon, forflatning og uniformering. Kunst kan være den motpolen. Kunst er noe evigvarende og ekte som naturen. Kunst har og gir identitet og originalitet. Kjøp av god kunst skal først og fremst være en mental investering. Vårt råd er derfor: Kjøp bare kunst du liker. Men - ved å analysere potensiell BAPPI kontra pris kan et kunst-kjøp også bli en meget fornuftig økonomisk investering og da blir det tilsammen en mental-økonomisk investering. Absolute Certainty (01) A/L - 100 cm x 120 cm The Ox is a very strong and stable character in Chinese astrology. His strength comes from trusting the Universe that everything is going the right way. He is very physical and has a red colour in his body. He is walking in the blue, spiritual Cosmos and is afraid of nothing. The trust in life gives us the power of stability. The fate can be unknown, but with love we can conquer everything. 4
Amor and Psyche (02) A/L - 100 cm x 120 cm The Greek philosopher Platou wrote about the human soul, Psyke, and her divine lover, Amor, who visited her only at night. Because of her curiosity she broke her promise and destroyed his trust by trying to see his face with the light of a candle. Blue symbolizes the spirituality. 5
Connection (03) A/L - 70 cm x 100 cm The connection between man and woman is the most important connection in the human society the masculine and feminine side. By being in harmony with each other they can gain the light, the source of happiness and fulfilment. 6
Creation (04) A/L - 90cm x 120 cm Every man and woman can create their own world with the help of imagination. Thoughts have a physical power. Blue colour symbolizes visualisation and spirituality, yellow is wisdom, green is nature, red is physical reality and white is the new beginning. 7
Creativity (05) A/L - 100cm x 120 cm The creative power of the Universe is inside of everybody. Using our imagination we can create the world we like for our-selves and the people around us. Red colour represents physical reality and love. Yellow is wisdom and light. The person in the painting is playing with the matter and creates by visualisation and wisdom his own Universe feeling like God creating the Earth. 8
Danae (06) A/L - 120 cm x 100 cm In a Greek myth the father of Danae is afraid that her child might take his kingdom away from him. Of that reason he denied her to meet any man. But the god Zeus had seen her and came to her in the shape of golden rain. From this union a powerful son was born who became hero and king. We can learn from the myth that if something is meant to be it will happen anyway. Do not struggle against the Nature, but embrace the opportunity and go with the flow. Green is the colour of nature, yellow is light and divine wisdom. 9
Defying Gravity (07) A/L - 100 cm x 70 cm The Goat is the character in the Chinese astrology which represents fantasy, delicate and refine taste, creativity and artistic talents. It flies in the imagination and creates the worlds which can be made in to physical reality. Blue is the colour of spirituality, yellow is wisdom. 10
Diving in the Soul (08) A/L - 90 cm x 70 cm The mermaid is diving in the depth of her soul. The water symbolizes the human soul. She discovers a fantastic landscape and a special structure underwater. This structure is the spiral.the spiral is the most important element in the development of the Universe. By developing our souls, changing our-selves to better persons, we can gain light and wisdom in our lives, represented by yellow in the picture. 11
Fire of Passion (09) A/L - 100cm x 120 cm The energy of the passion between two lovers is burning like fire. They are not afraid to loose themselves into the flame because they feel the joy of being united. They represent the two aspects of our soul feminine and masculine. This union brings the energy and light into the darkness. Red represents the physical love, yellow the wisdom and white the new beginning. 12
Freedom (10) A/L - 70 cm x 90 cm United in love the human souls have all the freedom in the world to reach happiness, light and wisdom. The horse represents the human soul with the masculine and feminine aspects. Blue is the colour of spirituality, orange is energy and happiness, green is nature, yellow is light and white symbolizes the new beginning. 13
Happiness (11) A/L - 120 cm x 90 cm The Pig represents a happy, generous, honest character in the Chinese astrology. When a person is sharing his light and energy with the surroundings it is happiness. The yellow colour symbolizes light and harmony inside the character and the two loving figures symbolize the unity. The red colour around is the material world where we are living and the blue is the spiritual aspect of the reality. 14
Immortality (12) A/L - 100 cm x 120 cm The Tiger is the destroyer and the creator of the world in the Chinese astrology. He represents the new opportunity after having finished the process of transformation. His figure is dark as shadow, but inside of the darkness is light. Immortality means the eternal energy in the Universe, which is also present in our material world symbolized by the red colour. The real spiritual love in the mortal bodies is eternal. The loving couple symbolizes the divine unity. 15
Journey (13) A/L - 120 cm x 100 cm The small child is amazed and excited by encountering the unknown world. He is flying on a bird, which represents the human soul. We should always remember the time of our childhood when we discovered the big world with miracles, wonders and surprises, and we should keep this child in our souls. Blue is the colour of spirituality and imagination. 16
Listening to Your Soul (14) A/L - 70 cm x 90 cm The dog represents loyalty, sensitivity, serving for higher purpose and humanity in the Chinese astrology. It is the symbol of the human soul. The dog sits very majestic and alert. He knows the light in the darkness. The blue around him is the spirituality. Yellow level above represents wisdom and harmony of the humanity. Red level is for his connection to the body. 17
Meditation (15) A/L - 70 cm x 90 cm The man in the boat is in the process of meditation and discovering himself. His boat of life is moving slowly from the shadow and darkness to the bright colours of his awareness, wisdom and light. The sunset symbolizes the maturity. The water symbolizes the soul and the mountain is the body. 18
New World (16) A/L - 150 cm x 200 cm Every birth of a new child is the birth of a new Universe. The pregnant woman symbolizes mother-nature, who gives the birth to everything. She is curious and pleasant and enjoys the mystery of her body to create life. Blue colour is spirituality, green is nature, yellow is light and white is the new beginning. 19
Sorceress (17) A/L - 95 cm x 70 cm The high priestess transforms darkness in to light and chaos in to order. She is afraid of nothing and steps in to the fire of love. She burns her selfish nature away in the seek of sharing and giving to others. Red symbolizes the unconditional love, yellow is light and white is new beginning. 20
Speak Your Mind (18) A/L - 120 cm x 90 cm In Chinese astrology the rooster symbolizes open mind and speech. It is important to share ideas and thoughts with the people around and inspire them. Yellow is the colour of light, wisdom and intuition. He has the spiritual ideas in his mind, symbolized in the blue sphere above and brings that to the physical red sphere of love. 21
Thought into Action (19) A/L - 70 cm x 90 cm In Chinese astrology the cat represents the delicate and diplomatic, elegant creature. It is good to be thoughtful, but is also important to manifest the ideas in to physical action. Yellow is imagination, blue is spirit and red is nature. The birds in the upper level of the painting symbolize the spiritual ideas and the dancing figures symbolize the world of material reality. 22
Transformation of Life (20) A/L - 100 cm x 120 cm Life is a permanent circle of transformations. Everything changes every moment in the Universe and in our lives. Birth and death and then birth again Two figures represent two different aspects: positive and negative, feminine and masculine, light and shadow. Without these opposite aspects nothing would exist. Yellow is light and divine wisdom, blue is spirituality and red is physical reality. 23
Unity 1 (21) A/L - 70 cm x 100 cm In Chinese astrology the horse represents energy and fire in the human soul. Two similar horses are in unity and harmony with each other. This is the law of attraction good energy attracts good energy. They are blue because of the spiritual aspect. Red around them is the physical reality. Yellow level above represents wisdom and divine law of the Universe. The down part represents the light which opens through the love. 24
Unity 2 (22) A/L - 150 cm x 200 cm The couple is walking through the life hand in hand. They are very strong together and not afraid of any challenge. This Unity represents the union of the feminine and masculine aspects of the Universe. Only when these opposite sides are in absolute harmony the energy can flow and all limitations will disappear. Red is love and energy, yellow is wisdom and light. 25
Wisdom (23) A/L - 100 cm x 60 cm The priest holds the vessel of wisdom and light. His body is like the tree of knowledge, which has roots in the subconscious and unknown depth. Yellow is light, divine wisdom and mercy. Blue symbolizes spirituality. 26
World of Dreams (24) A/L - 70 cm x 100 cm The couple is staying in front of the opening to the light. They have reached the moment when all dreams become true. After hard work with them-selves, with each-other and the relationship, they are rewarded with harmony and happiness. Blue is spirituality, green is nature, yellow is wisdom, red is the physical body and the physical love. 27

Ekatherina S. Her education: 1975 81 Art school for Children in St. Petersburg (Leningrad) Diploma for being the best pupil. 1981 89 Studies of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science by the University of St. Petersburg. Best student in all three categories. 1990 92 Studies by the Art Academy of St. Petersburg. She was one of the seven glasnost artists. 1994 98 Studies by the Art Academy of Düsseldorf, Germany. Master student (Prof. A. R. Penck). Graduated. 29

Galleri Pingvin (etablert 1985) er et av Skandinaviens største og mest internasjonale gallerier innen samtidskunst. Vi holder til midt i Oslo i en gammel 3 etasjers bygning. Kunst skal først og fremst være en mental investering. Vårt mål er at kunstkjøp gjort i Galleri Pingvin også blir en økonomisk investering altså en mental-økonomisk investering. Hvorfor snakker vi ikke om kvalitet? Tja. Hva er kvalitet? Hvis kvalitet innen kunst var noe objektivt og absolutt hvorfor verdsatte ingen Van Gogh s arbeider mens han levde?
