Hvordan beregnes CO2 fotavtrykk? Det finnes flere metoder for å beregne GHG- ekvivalenter 1. Den franske metoden (ADEME) 2a. EU-Lex ( et dokument på 200 sider) 2b. PEFCR, en variant av EU Lex 3. Den Japanske metoden.
2. The European Method
1. The French Method The French Method is made for the protection of the French industry, using nuclear power. The description of the method is a 9 page document Therefore, for the main components of a solarpanel, simply the manufacturing countries are taken, with their specific energy mix. France nearly always wins this game, as the French components have the lowest carbon footprint. Tables are given, with values of each country. There is no differentiation within one country. For the carbon footprint of a panel, the CO ² values for the components are taken out of a given table and added. This is an easy desktop work with a very basic BOM, consisting of 8 components only. The result is simplified and unfair, as the manufacturers individual processes are ignored. In some cases, the generic values may be replaced by individual values, if they are confirmed by the French certification organization ADEME, this is the only way to escape the generalization within this system.
