Generell informasjon: ØWG - bra trykk på Kjemidagen 3/11 som forhåpentlig påvirker rekrutteringen positivt. MNE -De første Nanostudentene blir ferdige nå, men de sliter med m å få segg jobber. Blir vurdert som andre siv.ing. da man i industrien ikke har noe fagområde nanoteknologi. Mange har innsett at det mest aktuellee etter endt M.Sc. er phd. SIS Andre fakultet har lignende ordninger for eksempel rammetildeling som ikke dekker all lønn, slik at man er nødt til å dekke inn via eksterne midler. JPA Lønnrefusjon virker demotiverende. Vi kunne fått bevilget 100% og likevel tatt inn penger på prosjektene. Vi arbeider 100% og i tillegg tar inn prosjektmidler. HJV- Det forventes en høy produksjon, men skal ikke koste noe. For NFR prosjekter er dette et nullsumspill. Dyrere prosjekter betyr færre prosjekter da rammene som regel er gitt. ØWG Dette var egentlig til orientering. 32/10 Hvordan markedsfører vi våre studier? Vi har flere innganger til både master og phd studier ved instituttet. Hvordan skal vi komme mer kontakt med potensielle studenter, være mer synlige? Vi burde ha bedre søkere fra utlandet til våre phd-studier, vi betaler best.
3 av 7 Vi er snart alene med å ha studier uten skolepenger, svenskene innfører dette til neste år. HJO til neste år vil Norge være det eneste landet i Europa som ikke har skolepenger på M.Sc. studier. MNE Det snakkes lite på høyskolene om NTNU M.Sc. programmet burde absolutt markedsføres bedre da det mye mer relevant. ØWG Snakket med flere fra HiST under kjemidagen, men HiST hadde egen karrieredag på onsdag. MNE Høyskolen i Bergen har egen kjemikveld hvor vi bør være representert via Samarbeidsforum. Høyskolen i Bergen har egen prosess-spesialisering så vårt masterstudium burde være meget relevant for disse studentene. JPA Vet ikke hvordan markedsføringen koordineres tror at M.Sc. kun håndteres av Internasjonal seksjon ikke rekrutteringseksjonen, vi kommer derfor ikke ut til norske kandidater. MNE Det finnes baser på nett hvor i hvert fall petroleum er med hvor en del IKP fag kommer fram. ØWG Hege og Margareth ser på dette om vi burde abonnere på noen av disse basene. ØWG Forundret over at vi ikke har flere stipendiater fra USA? HJV Vårt system er helt inkompatibelt med deres system. MNE De begynner rett fra BSc på phd. De som går MSc har som regel valgt å ikke ta phd. og vil ut i industri. MNE Engelsk side ikke oppdatert. HJO Vet det. HJV Vi burde vite mer om hvilke institusjoner kandidater kommer fra, slik at man kan skille mellom gode eller dårlige institusjoner. ØWG Må øke nettsynligheten, må oppdatere sidene og få de inn i ønskede databaser både int. generelt og i EU. MNE Bør oppdatere studentuttalelser på nettsidene. JPA vi trenger info fra rekruttering og opptak om hva de gjør. Inviterer de til et infomøte. 33/10 Professorat i beregningskjemi: Ligger i planen for 2012, men vi har sammen med IKJ bedt om å få utlyst den tidligere. Fått go fra fakultetet.

Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology - Department of Chemical Engineering PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING (COMPUTATIONAL CHEMISTRY) The Department of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology invites applications for a position at the rank of associate or full professor in Chemical Engineering with specialization computational chemistry, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Department of Chemical Engineering has at present 12 professors, 7 associate professors, 4 adjunct professors and more than 100 PhD-students and post docs. The Department has a national role and responsibility for research and teaching in chemical engineering. The Department is organized in five research groups and the position will be fitted into one of the research groups depending on research profile of the appointed person. The five research groups are Process systems engineering, Environmental engineering and reactor technology, Biorefinery and fibre technology, Colloid and polymer technology, and Catalysis.
The professorship is expected to strengthen the cooperation between the applied research at the Chemical engineering department and the more fundamental research at the Chemistry department of NTNU. 5 av 7 The Professor/Associate Professor will have specific responsibility for research and teaching in computational chemistry and molecular reaction models with applications directed toward one or more of the following areas: catalysis, liquid absorption (particularly CO2 absorption), surface and colloid chemistry and membrane processes: The research tasks may include chemical reactions occurring on solid and liquid surfaces, e.g. catalyst and membrane surfaces, reactions in solvents including solvation phenomena and solute structures, prediction of transport properties and non-idealities, description of interfaces (solid-liquid, liquid-liquid, solid-gas and liquid-gas) and adsorbed surface layers (surfactants, macromolecules, polymers and biomolecules. Relevant tools could be methods such as ab initio electronic structure methods, density functional theory and molecular dynamics, as well as microkinetic modelling and Monte Carlo simulation in order to follow reaction kinetics. A special emphasis will be placed on cross- and multidisciplinary approaches. Applicants should be able to contribute to existing research and teaching programs, and to develop new programs within the field of specialization. The successful applicant must be able to document extensive disciplinary qualifications in important fields within the areas listed. His/her individual work must document scientific expertise in one or more areas within the discipline, particularly those special fields for which the Professor/Associate Professor has specific responsibility. Special emphasis will be placed on the candidates ability to initiate, build, and supervise internationally recognized research. Moreover, compatibility and complementarity of the proposed research with current research in the department will be assessed. Weight will be placed on pedagogical skills. The evaluation of the candidate will be based on documented pedagogical material, including pedagogical education/training, the presentation of academic work, experience supervising masters-level students and doctoral candidates, and teaching as well as other pedagogical matters. The evaluation will consider both the quality and scope of the experience. Academic staff employed without having prior formal pedagogical qualification in universitylevel teaching, and who are unable to document equivalent qualifications, are required to successfully complete a recognized course that gives a pedagogical qualification in universitylevel teaching within two years of taking the appointment. The University offers such courses. Applicants who have been short-listed will be invited for interviews and a demonstration of their pedagogical ability, usually in the form of a trial lecture. Short-listed applicants will also present a seminar outlining their current research and future research plans. The Professor/Associate Professor is to be jointly responsible for disciplinary matters together with other academic staff in the Department and is required to contribute to teaching activities in the relevant curriculum and assist in further developing the teaching programme, including continuing education. The Professor/Associate Professor will supervise masters students, research fellows and doctoral candidates in his/her discipline and will partake in the departemental administrative work.
6 av 7 The Professor/Associate Professor is obliged to adhere to regulations that concern changes and developments within the discipline and/or the organizational changes concerning activities at the University. Newly-employed academic staffs who do not already master a Scandinavian language are within three years expected to achieve proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language. This proficiency should correspond to level three in the Norwegian for Foreigners courses provided at the Department of Applied Linguistics. The University provides such courses. The appointment is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants.
