NCAA football-playing rules apply. The offi cials will escort the captains (Rule 3-1-1) to the center of the fi eld for the coin toss. The referee shall toss a coin at mid-fi eld in the presence of no more than four captains from each team and another game offi cial, fi rst designating the fi eld captain of the visiting team to call the coin toss. The winner of the toss shall choose one of the following options: 1. Offense or defense, with the offense at the opponent s 25-yard line to start the fi rst series. 2. Which end of the fi eld shall be used for both series of that overtime period. Note: The winner of the toss may not defer his choice. The loser of the toss shall exercise the remaining option for the fi rst extra period and shall have the fi rst choice of the two options for subsequent evennumbered extra periods. Each team retains the ball during a series until it scores or fails to make a fi rst down. The team scoring the greater number of points during the regulation and extra periods shall be declared the winner. There shall be an equal number of series in each extra period, except if one team scores during a period other than on the try. Beginning with the third extra period, teams scoring a touchdown must attempt a two-point try. Brothers In-Law This past summer senior wide receiver Ryan Wood married the former Erin Pridemore of Buford, Ga. Erin s younger brother Matt Pridemore is a sophomore teammate of Wood and is also a wide receiver. Brotherly Love The Blue Devils have four sets of brothers, including offensive coordinator Kurt Roper and running backs coach Zac Roper on the coaching staff. Ayanga and Ifreke Okpokowuruk are members of the defensive line unit. Senior tight end Tielor Robinson is joined on the roster by two family members as fi rst cousins Colin and Cameron Jones are redshirt freshman for Duke. Also with freshman Paul Asack coming to Durham, he joins his older brother Zack Asack to give the Blue Devils three sets of brothers. The Duke Family Connection Senior tight end Tielor Robinson, along with his two fi rst cousins Cameron and Colin Jones, has signifi cant ties to the Duke football program. Robinson s uncles Cedric and Walter Jones enjoyed outstanding careers for the Blue Devils. Cedric Jones is the father of Cameron and Colin and played from 1978-81. He caught 99 career passes for 1,732 yards (7th all-time at Duke) and 21 touchdowns (3rd). He earned second team All-America honors as a senior and spent nine seasons with the NFL s New England Patriots. Walter Jones is the uncle of the three current Duke players. Last season Oghobaase led the team with 4.5 sacks while Tauiliili paced the squad with 13 tackles for loss to go along with 108 total tackles.
