The irst theme is a gentle lullay in 3/ time, ased on the notes AEE, the musical selling o Aluquerque. These our notes (and their transosition) aear again and again throughout the iece, as oth melodic and transitional material. ollowing this main theme, three Hisanic olk songs are used: Don Simon (heard in viola, cello and ass), Valse de Cadena (layed y the violin section) and A La Ru (introduced y viola and cello, and then taken u y the entire orchestra). The initial theme then returns, this time resented maestically in / time. A rie, energetic coda, comining material rom Don Simon and the main theme, ends the iece with an exciting lair.
