1 Studieplan 2013/2014 Bachelor in Media Management and Innovation Studyprogramcode BMI Short description Bachelor in Media Management is an education directed towards graphical industry as well as the media- and information sector. The programme will give the students knowledge of processes and technology related to media production. At the same time they will acquire skills within management and business administration through courses like economics, marketing, business development, management etc. The programme focuses on: Technology for media production, management and economics, and business development. Language: The lectures are mainly held in Norwegian. Duration 3 years 180 ECTS credits Undergraduate programme leading to a Bachelor's degree. Expected learning outcomes The aim is to educate leaders who can hold various positions within the graphic industry, the media and visualization business and organizations working with media. They will acquire a broad understanding of production methods, economics and management. The education will qualify students to work alone or in groups. At end of study, the students will possess: Knowledge and skills to see the connection between production, costs and economy The ability to transfer knowledge and skills to new problems Good understanding for readjustments in a media company Insight to develop new business ideas and calculate the expenses The ability to present and converse the content of study programme Knowledge about laws and regulations regarding companies Knowledge about the leader role and readjustments in different company cultures On completion of the programme, the students are qualified to work as project managers, production managers and advisers in graphic companies, advertising agencies, design agencies, publishing firms, newspapers, communication agencies and companies that produce information on screen and paper. 4 Emneoversikt IMT1421 Management and innovation in media companies Course code: IMT1421 Course name: Management and innovation in media companies Course level: Bachelor (syklus 1) ECTS Credits: 5 Duration: Autumn Language of instruction: Norwegian Expected learning outcomes: After completing this course, the students shall have an understanding of the concept and principles of management in media companies, in terms of technical organization and the production related issues. The main purpose of this course is to learn about the processes and procedures in media companies and how media companies are organized. Students shall be able to recognize and describe differences and similarities between different media companies in terms of planning procedures and quality control. By participating in company visits, students will be able to develop skills and knowledge regarding the production system of media companies. Furthermore, the students shall recognize and understand how development and innovation processes are integrated in media companies. Topic(s): The topics of the project work are related to production processes, department and division structure and responsibilities. A detailed production plan including appropriate procedures and equipment needs to be elaborated. Furthermore, procedures for quality control need to be addressed and discussed. Finally, the students have to demonstrate the ability of reflecting and summarizing relevant issues, and point out potential areas for changes. It demands insight in various mediatypes present in a multimedia production, aswell as basis theorethical and practical basic production of live video, sound and editing, and the final publishing of the product. 25 IMT2591 Superstructure Innovation Project I Course code: IMT2591 Course name: Superstructure Innovation Project I Course level: Bachelor (syklus 1) ECTS Credits: 5 Duration: Autumn Language of instruction: Norwegian On the basis of: "Emneoverbyggende innovasjonsprosjekter" (I-III) er praktiske utviklingsprosjekter som supplerer eller viderefører temaer fra den øvrige emneporteføljen i studiet. Expected learning outcomes: Kandidaten vil etter gjennomført emne ha utviklet kunnskaper om innovasjonsprosesser og forretningsmodeller. Kandidaten skal omsette teori om prosjektledelse til praktisk erfaring innenfor så vel prosjektgjennomføring som forretnings- og produktutvikling. Kandidaten skal etter gjennomgått emne kunne utvikle en forretningsidé både innenfor rammene av en eksisterende virksomhet og som grunnlag for etablering av en ny virksomhet. Prosjektene kan være knyttet til studiets samarbeidsbedrifter, og det kan være aktuelt å jobbe hos bedriften i perioder. De "emneoverbyggende innovasjonsprosjektene" (I-III) kan dreie seg om konseptuell problemløsning, utvikling av produksjonsplattformer, implementering og utvikling av tekniske medieløsninger, implementering og utvikling av brukersentrerte publiseringsmedier og innovative kommunikasjonsløsninger. 25 / 58

Deleksamen 2: Individuelt refleksjonsnotat med teoretisk del som omhandler både prosjektledelse og innovasjon (30%). Begge deler må være bestått.
