The match is scheduled for 2 games, played every, other day, with a four game "overtime" in case of a tie. Kasparov, 20, is the second highest rated player in the world behind his Soviet countryman, world champion Anatoly Karpov. Tony Mattina and Dave Leppert each won 2, drew 2 and lost for scores of 3. The first satellite section was won by Doug Fletcher. Guido Riley and Ron Erickson split the honors (at 4 apiece) in the second satellite section. As Guido beat Ron in their head-to-head encounter she came in first on tie break. Not too many issues ago, Guido was picked as someone to watch. Those prognostications have turned out to be correct. This fall she will be going to graduate school in Texas. She will be missed in Missoula and all of us wish her well. Jensen-Mattina RD5 GOLLE SYSTEM Mike adds indirect pressure to e5 on move 8 with his Bishop on b2 and Tony attacks the center from the Queen side (using the second move of the same Pawn to do so). Mike plays a nice combination on move 23 to win the echange, Tony could have prevented it with 22...P-KR3 (or 2...P-KR3, or 20...P-KR3); but, then again, Mike could have executed it on move 20.
