The investment includes 8.79 acres of land with access to Golden Isles Parkway, the main thoroughfare in the city. The land creates an opportunity for developers to build a shadow center of a Walmart Supercenter or self storage facility. The Walmart Supercenter is a staple in Hazelhurst and where residents shop for their groceries, pharmacy, electronics, home furniture, clothes and other retail items. The nearest Walmart is 15 miles away in Baxley, with all of the other locations more than 30 miles away. The Hazelhurst Walmart Supercenter does not get customers from Baxley but does have a large reach, attracting citizens of Lumber City, McRae, Alamo and Mount Vernon. Area Information Hazelhurst is a historic city located in southeast Georgia which came into existence as a depot and popular stop on the Macon and Brunswick Railroad. Located in Hazelhurst is the Altamaha River, where Oconee River and Oculgee Rivers meet. The Altamaha is a popular place for fisherman and tourists alike to see to experience the Georgia Outdoors.
