Local interference of e.g. PC, TV, luminous tube etc may cause noise. To avoid this interference, try to move away from the noise source. USAGE Read the user s manual carefully before using this product. Performance may differ. Use only in the normal position as explained in the user s manual. QUALIFIED SERVICE Only qualified personnel may repair this product. Only open the unit when changing the battery. CONNECTING TO OTHER DEVICES When connecting to other devices, please read the user s manual for that particular device for more information. Do not connect incompatible products. 6 Norsk SONATA Sonata telefonforsterker Les bruksanvisningene nøye før du tar i bruk Sonata! Sonata er en telefonforsterker for bordtelefoner. Med den trinnløse volumkontrollen kan du enkelt forsterke lyden i telefonrøret. Komme i gang A. Finn ledningen som går fra telefonrøret til telefonapparatet. Koble denne ledningen ut av telefonapparatet og inn i kontakt merket med (1) på Sonata. Se figur neste side. B. Den vedlagte ledningen(60cm) settes inn i telefonapparatet der hvor ledning i punkt A ble frakoblet. Koble den andre enden inn i kontakt merket (2) på Sonata. C. Strømforsyningen kobles inn i kontakt merket (3) på Sonata. Vedlagte borrelås med tape kan benyttes for å feste Sonata til bordplaten. Strømforsyningen settes i stikkontakten til slutt. Kun vedlagte strømforsyning må benyttes. 6

8 Norsk SONATA Konfigurering Sonata kommer ferdig konfigurert til de fleste telefoner. Skulle det vise seg at Sonata ikke fungerer tilfredsstillende mot ditt telefonapparat, må den konfigureres: Løft av røret på telefonapparatet Benytt vedlagte skrutrekker for å vri termineringsvelgeren (4) step for step inntil du hører summetonen klart og tydelig. Foreta så et anrop for å sjekke at mikrofonen også fungerer. Dersom den ikke virker så stepper du videre og gjentar mikrofontesten. Sonata er ferdig konfigurert når du har summetonen og mikrofonen virker. Bruk av Sonata Ved anrop (inngående/utgående) løftes røret av telefonapparatet. Ønsket volum justeres ved å vri på volumknappen (6). Ved strømbrudd vil det bli opprettet forbindelse via telefonrøret og telefonapparatet. Telefonapparatet kan da benyttes på vanlig måte, men uten ekstra forsterkning på telefonrøret. 8

9 SONATA Norsk Feilsøking og ofte stilte spørsmål Forsikre deg om at Sonata er koblet riktig Koble fra strømforsyningen, la denne være ute mens du sjekker at telefonen fungerer som normalt. Hvis dette ikke er tilfellet må du sjekke om Sonata er koblet på riktig måte. Innringerer kan ikke høre meg 1. Sjekk alle kontakter 2. 12 English SONATA Sonata Telephone Amplifier Read the instructions carefully before using your Sonata! Sonata is an amplifier for desktop telephones. The continuously adjustable volume control makes it easy to amplify the sound from a telephone handset. Getting started A. Locate the cable which runs from the handset to the telephone base. Disconnect this cable from the telephone and connect it to the socket marked (1) on the Sonata unit. See the illustration on the next page. B. C. Connect the accompanying 60 centimetre cable to the socket on the telephone base from which the cable was removed in step A above. Connect the other end of this cable to the socket marked (2) on the Sonata unit. Connect the cable from the power supply to the socket marked (3) on the Sonata unit. The Velcro tape supplied can be used to fix the Sonata unit to a table top. Connect the power supply to the mains last. Use only the accompanying power supply. 12

14 English SONATA Configuration Sonata is supplied ready configured for most types of telephones. If you find that your Sonata does not function satisfactorily with your telephone, configure it as follows: Lift the handset from the telephone base. Use the enclosed screwdriver to turn the compatibility switch (4) step by step until you hear a clear dialling tone. Now make a call to check that the microphone also works correctly. If it does not function, turn the selector one step further and repeat the microphone test. When you hear a dialling tone and the microphone functions, your Sonata is correctly configured. Using Sonata To make or answer a call, lift the handset. Rotate the volume control (6) to set the desired sound level. In the event of an electrical power outage, the connection will be maintained by the telephone handset. The telephone can then be used in the normal manner, but with no additional amplification. 14

15 SONATA English Troubleshooting & FAQ Make sure that your Sonata is correctly connected Disconnect the power supply and check that the telephone functions in the normal way without the amplifier. If not, you should check that the Sonata is connected correctly. The caller cannot hear me 1. Check all connections 2. Change the setting of the compatibility switch The caller s voice is weak or distorted 1. Increase the volume level 2. Change the setting of the compatibility switch The caller cannot hear me, but I can hear the caller 1. Check that the microphone is close enough to your mouth (maximum 20 cm) 2.
