Påbudet omfatter: For å unngå iøpsk høyderorstrim skal følgende utføres: 1. Slå av flyets elektriske system 2. For fly utstyrt med Bendix Auto Pilot ~4D, med den elektriske trimbryter montert p~ styrespaken: Koble ut og sikre kontakten for manuell elektrisk trim i "Trim Adapter Box" Connector P309). Sikre samtidig gjennom funksjonsprøve a t autopiloten er intakt. 3. For fly som ikke har autopilot, men manuell elektrisk trim: Koble ut og sikre kontakten til høyderortrimmens servomotor. 4. Foreta funksjonsprølle for å verifisere at trimbryterne på styrespaken virkelig er utkoblet, For fly med autopilot: Slå på autopiloten, beveg styrespaken helt frem, og deretter helt tilbake. Se etter at trimhjulet, etter et kort opphold, beveger seg i motsatt retning av spaken. 5. Installer et skilt på instrumentpanelet i godt synlig for begge flygerne, med følgende tekst: I'ANUAL ELECTRIC TRIM INOPERATlVE eller MANUELL ELEKTRISK TRIM UTKOBLET Tid for utførelse: Innen 10 timers gang tid etter i dersom ikke allerede utført. The investigations cared out found a hidden failure mod e not checked by the pre- light feathering test. This failure mode was due to a loss of electrical connection between the control and test switch pins and the wires soldered to them.. REASON: _ In the investigation of arecent in light engine nacelle fire occurence on an EMB- 120 aircraft equipped with a Pratt & Whitney PWL 18 engine model, it has been found that the. combustion chamber rear drain valve cap, which should be permanently installed, was missing. The absence of the cap permits any eventual amount of non-bured fuel in the conbustion, chamber to be drained inside the nacelle exhaust tube comparment. Although no direct relationship may exist between the uncovered drain and the fire event, it is considered that such condition may exist in other aircraft of the same type and can affect light safety and, therefore, an immediate corrective action is required.
