2 13th All India Exhibition of Art (Painting, Drawing, Graphics, Sculpture) SCHEDULE State Lalit Kala Akademi, U.P., Lal Baradari Building, Lalit Kala Akamedi Marg, Lucknow Period for Submission of Schedule, Entry Fee and Photographs is 08 October to 09 Nov Awards : 1. There will be ten awards of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand ) each for ten works of outstanding merit. 2. These awards will be called the awards of 13th All India Exhibition of Art of the U.P. State Lalit Kala Akademi. 3. It will not be binding upon the Jury appointed for the 13th All India Exhibition of Arts to give all the ten awards if they find less than ten exhibits deserving for the award. Purchase : 4. The Akademi may select and purchase some works of Art from Exhibition. The artists should, therefore, mark the price of their works reasonable and send complete Bio-data. General : 5. A taciter system of judgement will be undertaken for selecting the exhibits and deciding the awards. In the first tier the Jury members will select out of photographs received in response to the Schedule, which are ticked For Competition. In the second tier, the Jury members will select the award winning works from the exhibits selected in the first tier for display. 6. Artists who have already won an award in the previous three All India Exhibition of Art of the Akademi can only take participation for Exhibition but will not be eligible for the award. 7. Fifteen per cent of the sale proceeds of exhibits will be deducted by the Akademi for the Artists Welfare Fund. 8. Copyright of the exhibits acquired by the Akademi from the All India Exhibition of Art shall rest with the Akademi. Artists will be required to give a certificate to this effect when informed of the purchase of their works. 9. Artists taking part in the art exhibition should immediately inform the Akademi about their change of address. Akademi will not be responsible for any loss due to the incorrect address. 10. Sculptures should be made of durable materials such as metal, wood, stone, marble, plastic, fibreglass etc. Sculptures of clay, paper, plaster, terracotta or any other fragile or fimsy material will be accepted on Artists risk. 11. All correspondence will be made by the Akademi to the address given in the Schedule. The artists should immediately inform to the Akademi of any change of address failing which the Akademi will not be responsible for nonreceipt of cummunication. 12. All correspondence should be addressed to the Secretary, State Lalit Kala Akademi, U.P., Lal Baradari Building, Lalit Kala Akademi Marg, Lucknow U.P., Ph. : , Failure to comply with any of the rules laid down in the Schedule may cause rejection of the exhibits. 14. All participating artists will be entitled to a catalogue free of charge. Exhibits : 15. For selection to the 13th All India Exhibition of Arts, the artist will have to sent two set of works of art 8" x 6" out of their manimum three works. One should not write anything on the back of Photographs. Only the number of Photographs be written on the back of work i.e. Photographs. 16. On the selection of the photographs by the Jury, the selected artists will be asked to send their exhibits to the Akademi. Artist will not send their works directly to the Akademi unless they are not asked for. Chairman U.P. State Lalit Kala Akademi will have the power to remove the work of artist despite being selected, if found not upto the mark. 17. No exhibits which has already been displayed in any All India Exhibition or any Internationa Exhibition will not be accepted. All exhibits should have been executed after Failure to observe these rules will disqualify the work submitted for the exhibition. 18. The decision of the Jury will be final, in the matter of selection and judging and no correspondence will be entertained. 19. The Akademi reserves the rights to reproduce any exhibit accepted from the exhibition. 20. Photographs received after 9 November 2012 will not be considered for selection. All Photograph will be retained by the Akademi in its archives and no correspondence on this account will be entertained. 21. No exhibitor whose works have been displayed, will be allowed to remove any exhibits submitted, before the close of exhibition. 22. No exhibit will be presented to the Jury for selection, unless the entry fee in full would not be realised by the Akademi. 23. The minimum size of the exhibits will not be more than 6' x 6' for Painting and 6' x 6 x 6' for a sculpture. Presentation And Labelling : 24. Exhibits must be suitably framed. 25. Each exhibit must have two labels, one pasted on the reverse of the exhibit and other tagged to it with a strong thread, Labels are supplied along with Schedule. 26. Submission of a photographs will imply aceptance of all the rules and regulations mentioned above. Schedule : 27. The enclosed Schedule and the slip must be filled up correctly and must be mailed with a detailed bio-data or deliver personally to the Secretary, State Lalit Kala Akademi, U.P. between 08 Oct. to 9 November 2012 along with the photograph of the exihibit. 28. No change can be made in the Schedule, once it has been received. Particulars contained in the Schedule must tally with the particulars mentioned on the labels at the back and tag of the exhibit in case there is any contradiction particulars given in the Schedule will be taken as final. 29. The Schedule must be on the official forms supplied by the Akademi. The exhibitors should state whether his/her entry is a painting, drawing, graphic, sculpture. The schedule of exhibition is available on the website of the akademi i.e. Entry Fee : 30. The entry fee per artist is Rs. 350 (Rs. Three Hundred Fifty only) for a minimum of three exhibits. The entry fee is not refundable. 31. The entryfee must be send by the money order/ bank draft/cash to the Secretary, U.P. State Lali Kala Akademi, Lal Baradari Building, Lalit Kala Akademi Marg (Near High Court) Lucknow No other may regarding the remittance of the fee will be accepted. 32. All money order coupons must contain the following information : (a) Name and address of the sender, (b) Amount remitted, (c) Purpose of remittance Packing And Despatch : 33. Exhibits should be packed in strong cases, to withstand rail transport. The Akademi will not be responsible for refund by the Railways of package treated as unsuitable for rail transport. 34. Exhibitors are advised to despatch cases under Railway Transit Insurance at their own expense, to ensure careful handling by Railways. 35. Lists of boxes should be fastened with screws and not by the nails. Each lid must bear a packing list detailing the name and address of the artist/exhibitor. 36. All packages containing exhibits send directly for the exhibition by rail, air, or post should be marked : THE CONTENTS ARE FOR 13TH ALL INDIA EXHIBITION OF ART, , LUCKNOW. 37. The despatch slip supplied with the Schedule must be pasted on the top of the box parcel. The parcel may be booked to the Lucknow Station. All packages should be freight paid and addressed to The Secretary, State Lalit Kala Akademi, U.P., Lal Baradari Building, Lalit Kala Akademi Marg, Lucknow Uttar Pradesh. Receipts of Out-Station And Local Exhibits : 38. Exhibits of local artists or those of adjoining areas may be delivered to the State Lalit Kala Akademi U.P., Lal Baradari Building, Lalit Kala Akademi Marg, Lucknow during a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and 2.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on all working days Advance payment for the return of the exhibits must be paid 39. The Akademi will not be responsible for not taking delivery of the Parcel or misplacement of consignment by Railways, Roadways, Airways. etc. 40. Exhibits submitted in person must be collected by an exhibitor within a month after the closure of the exhibition. Else they may be disposted by the Akademi will dispuse up of the matter in the manner it will deem fit in any manner it deems fit. 41. Exhibits will be returned to the address given by the exhibitors in the Schedule or to any other address given by the exhibitor subsequently. The Akademi will not call back the exhibits or hold itself responsible in any manner, if the exhibitors fail to collect the despatch at the communicated address. 42. In the event of non-clearance of parcel by the exhibitor, the Raiways authorities will resort to auctionign the exhibits, in order to recover their lavse and having done so find it short of the actual dues, the exhibitors will be held responsible for paying the difference.
